Episode 26

Earthing Physicist

Guest Gaetan Chevalier

Lang English

Earthing has now firmly taken its place in the world of natural health and healing. However the science, where is the science we so often hear. Well here it is! Beginning with his research as a plasma physicist working on nuclear fusion machines Dr. Chevalier takes us through the progression of connections that leads to Japan’s legendary Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama and his work with him up to his current position assisting Deepak Chopra and Clint Ober in finding out what happens when the body gets connected to Earth. How about one second for the autonomic nervous system to change? How about pain relief in a few moments? What are the implications for diabetes, auto immune diseases and the plethora of ills that seem to have deluged our societies since we invented insulated soles on our shoes? This is paradigm shifting at its best since it is clear from over 15 peer reviewed studies that the effects are real and that there is a science behind it all..one still in its development stages. S

Zen abbot Muho: Sitting still and doing nothing

Guest Abbot Muho

Lang English

The allure of zen began to tantalize the West back in the 1960’s thanks to the brilliant books of the Japanese scholar and monk D.T. Suzuki and closely followed by eclectic philosopher Alan Watts and many others. They saw in zen perhaps a new clarity that Western religion and philosophy had long forsaken for sophistry,  tepid social morality and born again inanity in many cases. To the true seeker of wisdom zen had none of that and so we saw Bill and Steve, arguably the creators of our internet world take themselves to places like India and Esalen to get a taste of this new kid on the block; Zen Buddhism. Monasteries sprang up in the US and around the world to anchor people in this new approach to reality that could never get defined as this or even that. Zen busted apart all the conceptual greenhouses we tend to warm our spiritual selves inside. It was full of paradox, humour and searing honesty about the human condition. Abbot Muho, born in Germany truly is one of a kind. To b

Religion meets science in the vacuum

Guest Koichi Hirano

Lang Japanese

Pastor Koichi Hirano works as a Tokyo based, world traveling messenger of God even still at the age of 74. Bilingual and with rich experience in both the US and Japan as a bible teacher, family and marriage counsellor as well as now heading his own Horizon Chapel he is known to deliver five impassioned sermons in one day! He is surely a tireless crusader for the same Holy Spirit that seems to power his every move. Pastor Hirano has recently developed a fascination with the work of holofractographic scientist Nassim Haramein. He sees clear refllections of Biblical knowledge throughout Haramein’s theories of the vacuum space full of infinite energy. Well aware of the challenges the established church system around the world faces he draws from the deep well of scripture to show us how Haramein’s ideas resonate completely with ancient tradition. Beyond that it seems that in this interview there really has emerged a bridge between the often embattled systems of the left and ri

Kazuya Yokozawa the stone flautist

Guest Kazuya Yokozawa

Lang Japanese

One day the already well practised flautist was told to blow on a stone flute. This is not exactly an instrument since no human hand had anything to do with its formation. Apparenly small crabs excrete an acidic substance on rocks to slowly create holes into which they will burrow their future homes. This make the stone flute a completely natural creation. To play it then requires an entirely different approach to ‘music’ as he explains to us. The Shinto priest who encouraged him to start also reprimanded him for having an attitude of ‘practise’ since this device can be considered a way of inviting the Gods to come to us. “Could you rehearse a talk with God” he quips? Or would you give that moment your full attention, with no intention of showing off, sounding perfect or even making any musical sense? Like a zen riddle you cannot really learn to play the stone flute, you have to just just press it to your lips and see what happens! In the future thi

Biohacking

Guest Kiki Bosch

Lang English

She sits quietly on the edge of an ice floe for a photo shoot after having just come out of the Greenland Sea @ minus three degrees celsius. Extraordinary adventures and experiments with one’s own physiology we call biohacking these days. In this uplifting interview we share the inside experiences of a woman who has dedicated herself to pushing her own physiology and consciousness far beyond the norm. Her rallying call isDisturb the Comfort and that is exactly what she does. A life of travel and exploration led her from free diving to the frigid power of freezing water and clearly helped her overcome the single biggest trauma she had ever experienced. Spiralling in and out of helplessness and depression from it she found, like her mentor the ‘Iceman’ fellow Dutchman Wim Hof, that cold is the noble force that takes us out of ourselves and thus deeply back into ourselves through a paradox well known to shamans throughout time. She inspires us with news that a new tribe

The Zealous entrepreneur Harry Kosato

Guest Harry Kosato

Lang English

So welcome to.. the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way Serendipidy is defined thus in the dictionary but we do not often connect it to wheeling and dealing in multiple businesses in multiple countries and in multiple languages do we? Meet a true blue entrepreneur who goes by his nickname Harry but whose Japanese name is Hakuei Kosato. Just during this in person interview he fended calls from Mumbai and Hong Hong in connection with the Great British Week in Tokyo’s chic Roppongi-an event he invented like so many others to bring something unique into form and very importantly to ‘pay the bills’ doing it… something his mentor Richard Branson taught him. On his way to London from Kobe via his Tokyo office I caught this effervescent man for long enough to receive a byte of his substantial knowledge about what it really takes to be an entrepreneur. Packed with enlightening hints about how to stop doing what you do NOT want to

Microbial intelligence and complexity

Guest Tatiana Kassessinoff PhD

Lang English

Tatiana Kassessinoff PhD certainly knows her chemistry and knows how important a role science plays in our understanding of health and well being. She also has a clear understanding of the problems scientists face due to not seeing the proverbial forest for the trees. We constitute the forest and yes we BE the tree. The great dichotomy of delving perhaps too deeply into the chemical engines of our bodies, the protein machines that make us tick, comes down to this: Does it really make us whole, healthy and vibrant as human beings? Given the dismal track record of just how seriously our health has degenerated (if you doubt it walk outside and look at obesity, depression, chronic psycho-somatic syndromes and most of all lack of vivacity) we look deeper into the human condition in this episode. Drawing from a wealth of experience including transformational analysis, shamanism and work for the National Institute of Health in the US Tatiana shows us that rare talent of a true ‘mad sci
